many problems

Sorry I've been gone so long, I hope I haven't lost everyone. I had some things happening at work that just took all my energy for a while, then of course the holiday, then I had some computer problems, which I hope I have solved, then I had some problems with my Blogspot account.
I've got a lot of things to talk about which I will get to over the next week or so, but tonight I'm watching a NOVA special about the real story of Pocahontas. It seems the whole affair of saving John Smith's life was probably not a romantic thing, but a planned adoption ritual for diplomatic purposes. It makes sense, Indians were among the most skilled politicians on Earth.
I promise I'll be back soon.

A great war dance

Sorry I didn't put anything on last week, I was busy getting ready for the White Bear Helushka last weekend. It turned out fine, there were 60 or so dancers, and Earl Fenner was head singer (Eli Warrior may not get out anymore, he isn't doing well). I danced to a lot of good old Ponca songs.
We have a number of things coming up. This friday is practice at Ellen's, then we are performing tuesday the 13th at a cub scout meeting in Knoxville, at 6:30 P.M.
We are going to the women's prison saturday the 17th, and doing another cub scout meeting tuesday the 20th, in Abingdon, at the grade school at 7:00.
Next month we are going to the men's prison on the 8th.
We've been invited to a goat roast saturday the 10th, north of Galesburg. Call Ellen or Jerry for directions. Jim Sanderson and his friends are putting it on, they are trying to get a new native group going in the area.
I'll try to be better about putting things up here.
